Student Life | Health & Safety

The health and safety of each child is of paramount importance to the school.

Nurses
A team of nurses employed by the school is available on site. They provide first aid for minor injuries and short term care for sick children. Nurses are also available to discuss problems concerning children's health with parents, or as a resource for health related information.

First aid training for all staff
ISL started a 5 year plan for all staff to be trained in first aid, with specialised training for Early Years teachers, PE teachers and coaches. The courses are Luxembourg certified. In the first year 71 staff members and coaches were trained. The plan includes Fire Evacuation courses for designated evacuation wardens based in each building of the ISL campus. The courses give the wardens information about risks of fire, origins of fire, fire spread, fire prevention and how to check the designated areas of the building in case of an evacuation. Evacuation wardens are also trained to use fire extinguishers and fire blankets. The Maintenance Team also has received a training in a fire container simulator.
