Welcome Back Festival Draws Major Crowd
Posted 18/09/2014 11:30

During our second annual Welcome Back Festival on Sunday afternoon, hundreds gathered at ISL to enjoy international cuisine and tasty beverages, and to soak up information about activities in Luxembourg.

A major purpose for the event is to introduce new parents and students to the wide variety of extra-curricular activities available in Luxembourg, as well as, show them the host of services that cater to expatriates living here. Representatives from area clubs, organizations, individual service providers, and local media represented their offerings and handed out free gifts and literature.

Over the past two years, though, the event has grown into a large festival that attracts more than newcomers to Luxembourg. With an International Food Village, live performances, tombola, sporting events and ample time to make new friends and socialize with old friends, the Welcome Back Festival is rapidly evolving into a major milestone in the ISL school calendar.

The event is orchestrated by the ISL Parent Teacher Organisation and proceeds from the event are used to fund PTO activities, as well as, Friends of ISL. (Click here to learn more about how Friends of ISL benefits students and faculty.) This year's festival raised a record amount for the PTO - the record amount raised this year will enable us to bring the ISL community even closer.

The PTO would like to thank everyone who gave up their time volunteering, and all those who came out and made this year's WBF a success. A special thanks to our ISL teachers, Christian Crum and James Libbey, who gave up their time and talents to make the sports and entertainment portion of this festival happen. All funds raised will allow us to offer support to ISL Charities and further PTO Events, bringing our ISL Community even closer.
