As our campus grows, so does the task of feeding our staff and faculty during the wonderful staff appreciation luncheon organized annually by the Parent Teacher Organisation at ISL. A small army of volunteers was needed to accommodate not one, but two, dining locations this year as the event was expanded to both the Upper School Commons and the Lower School Atrium.
To make the luncheon happen, parent volunteers from each Grade level, Preschool to Grade 11, provide 5-6 dishes respectively. They are encouraged to make something that represents their home nation. Volunteers also help to collect the dishes in the morning, help out during the luncheon, and help out with the cleanup.
The selection of foods was wide, delicious and international. The luncheon comes at a time in the school year when staff and faculty are working at a break-neck pace to complete classes, exam preparation, begin grade reporting and assessment, and mentor students through performances and sporting events. In essence, the appreciation is much appreciated.
