From the 30th March to 1st April three of our Grade 11 students, represented Luxembourg and ISL in the prestigious annual event “Your Europe, Your Say” in Brussels at the EESC. The event was made up of one selected school from each of the 28 EU member countries, and the 5 applicant countries. It was an opportunity to meet with students from all over Europe, some of whom had never been outside of their country. The objective of the conference was to discuss the main issues facing the EU today and suggest strategies to a range of problems which were presented to the EESC at the end. From the perspective of the EESC, a document of the top ideas will be produced as they look to move forward in addressing some of the issues facing the EU today seen through the eyes of today’s young generation. It was an interesting and worthwhile experience for both students and accompanying staff, and whilst ISL cannot apply for another three years (current grade 8), being such a small country, there will be a strong chance of re-selection in the not too distant future!
