Dear Parents, Students and Staff,

Well done ISL swimmers !!! We had a fantastic weekend with ISL hosting the NECIS Swim Competition with some 310+ swimmers from ten NECIS schools flying or bussing in from around Europe. Many of our NECIS swimmers from Grades 4 to 12 produced personal best times and we had 27x long course and 30x short course ISL school records broken during the season. For all results and times please see www.necis.eu

Well done also to our JV&V NECIS Basketball teams who represented ISL last weekend in Antwerp. There were some very close competitive games that ISL can be very proud of our performances and coaches came back very proud of our teams. Here are the final positions for our teams.

Varsity Girls, Varsity Boys, JV Boys = CUP runners-up

JV Girls Fourth in CUP

You can view all the game results on http://www.necis.eu/bb-hs-results.html. If any parents have some great photo’s of the NECIS Basketball games we would be happy to receive a copy of them in the sports office.

We would like to thank all our winter season coaches for their commitments and excellence to practice that have developed all ISL teams.

Spring Season start-up

It was great to see the large number of students turn out for our spring sports this week. The coaches are looking forward to working with their teams in a very short spring season and expect athletes to attend every practice. It is very important that students are proactive in notifying coaches if they cannot attend practices if they want to be considered for a NECIS teams. We wish all athletes the very best for a successful season.

Track and Field practices this week

All parents / students must sign up electronically via the parent portal prior to the first mandatory meeting.

Bus transportation for Track & Field and Tennis practices

Busses to transport athletes to the venues for their practice will depart at 3:45pm from the following areas on the campus:

*Track & Field athletes depart from the ECG bus parking to the Josy Barthel Stadium.

*Tennis players depart from the Piscine car park.

Both busses will return with athletes to the ISL car park.

Track and Field availability for NECIS Copenhagen

Our NECIS Track and Field team will be selected before Easter. It is important that students register their availability with coaches in practices in the next two weeks.

The reason for this early selection is that we have to put names on flight tickets for the block booking we have secured The NECIS trip will be approx’ 550euro so please make the decision with your child so as soon as forms are assigned, as they must be returned within 24hrs.

Swim-Fit will start on Monday 27-March

Grade 6-12 swimmers are invited to continue fitness swimming on Mondays, 3:45-5:15. This program is for staying swim fit and not instructional, so the swimmers need to be able to swim lengths of the 50m pool!

Reminder - Trifit Training will start on Tues 28-March

Athletes will do a mixture of fun workouts in the three Triathlon disciplines: swimming, biking and running. You will need a swimsuit, cap, goggles, water bottle, and shorts/ running shoes at practices on Tues and Thurs 3:45-5:15 meeting at the campus pool. The plan is to enter a team in the LASEL Triathlon in June.
