Originally spear-headed by a former Upper School librarian at ISL, this group emerged after a chance meeting between Pat Ebhohimen and a librarian with the Edward Ndlovu Memorial Library in Gwanda. This led to a long-term relationship between ISL students and students across a region of Zimbabwe.
The goal is simple: collect as many pens and pencils as possible and send them to our contact in Zimbabwe so that students can learn to write on paper instead of in the dirt.
Begun in 2006, donated writing materials and hygiene products are sent to Zimbabwe with funds raised through school based efforts. This project is now supported by our Middle School students.
