Higher Education and Careers Office Programmes

The ISL Higher Education and Careers Office takes a highly personalised approach to career education and guidance. The College Counsellors conduct individual and group counselling to provide students with opportunities for self-discovery, world-of-work research, and academic and vocational decision-making.

With a team of Higher Education and Career Counselling staff dedicated solely to the task of helping students choose and gain admission to colleges, universities and other institutions of further education, ISL ensures each student finds the right match upon graduation. The Higher Education and Careers Office begins to work on an individualised basis with parents and students, beginning in Grade 10, and also assists with gap year planning and opportunities for work experience and job shadowing.

Regular Meetings

The counsellors schedule regular meetings with Grade 10, 11 and 12 students together with their parents to discuss post-secondary school options. Individual student meetings continue throughout the higher education research and application process.

Guest Speakers and Workshops

Representatives from a variety of careers, colleges and universities worldwide are invited throughout the school year to speak to students and parents. Workshops are organised to increase students' awareness of the world of work and tertiary education opportunities.

Newsletters related to career and post-secondary planning are published, all students and parents are encouraged to read those newsletters for useful information.

Higher Education Testing

The counsellors are responsible for coordinating higher education standardised testing at ISL, including PSAT, SAT, ACT and Advanced Placement (AP). The internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is offered at Key Job Consulting (+352 49 06 09 1) in Luxembourg City. Register via ETS.org.
