Iain Fish Appointed as New Director of the International School of Luxembourg

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Iain Fish as the new School Director of International School of Luxembourg, effective August 1, 2025. Currently serving as ISL’s Upper School Principal, Iain brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having dedicated 28 years to education, including over two decades in international schools and 18 years in senior leadership.

Reflecting on his appointment, Iain Fish shared his enthusiasm for the future: "I’ve had the privilege of working in and leading some incredible schools in wonderful locations, and I can say without hesitation that my time here at ISL has been the most rewarding.” He continued, “This is a pivotal moment for ISL, as we stand on the cusp of becoming an International Baccalaureate Continuum School. I am thrilled that we have embarked on this journey, and I am proud to contribute to making this school goal a reality."

Iain also emphasized his commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for the ISL community: "As an educator, I am deeply committed to nurturing trust, collaboration, and inclusivity. Ensuring that all students, staff, and community members feel safe, valued, included, and respected is central to ISL’s mission. I believe this work will only grow in importance as we become an even more open, reflective, and ambitious school."

Iain's extensive leadership experience spans roles across several prestigious international schools. Before joining ISL, he served as Director / Head of School at the European International School in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He has also held leadership positions at the German European School Singapore, where he was the Head of Secondary and later Vice Principal and Head of the European Section.

Brian Blanchard, Chair of the ISL Board of Governors and the Search Committee, expressed his confidence in Iain’s appointment: “Iain’s extensive experience and deep understanding of ISL will ensure a smooth transition while driving the school’s continued transformation into an IB Continuum School. We are also deeply grateful to Dr. David J. Condon for his exceptional leadership and dedication over the past years in shaping ISL’s vision and strategic direction.”

Dr. David J. Condon will retire at the end of the 2024/2025 academic year after successfully guiding ISL through significant growth and development. His efforts have been instrumental in positioning ISL as a leading international school, and the Board expresses its gratitude for his leadership.

The appointment of Iain Fish follows a comprehensive search process, with contributions from ISL’s Board of Governors, Search Committee, and Search Associates. The Board extends its thanks to all candidates who expressed interest in the position and to everyone who supported the search process.
