Formula 1 Educational Experience for Upper School Students
The Formula 1 educational experience inspires students to use IT to learn about physics, aerodynamics, design, manufacture, branding, graphics, sponsorship, marketing, leadership/teamwork, media skills and financial strategy, and apply them in a practical, imaginative, competitive and exciting way.
Since the beginning of September 44 students from Grade 6-11 worked in teams, supported by Grade 12 students, to deploy CAD/CAM software to collaborate, design, analyse, manufacture, test, and then race miniature compressed air powered cars made from F1 model block. At the race last week the fastest speed achieved has been 62Km/h and the fastest reaction time: 0.146s.
