On May 6 and 7, 40 intrepid Middle School students created theatre magic with visiting ISTA artists Anna Andresen and Emily Grant around the theme "Safe Houses and Fortresses: the different ways we protect ourselves, our communities and our personal space".
During two full days, students created ensembles, played games, devised original work around the festival theme, and collaborated to polish that work into a short shared performance for the school community. The festival involved a wonderful excursion to Beaufort Castle, and a secret cave in the forest near the village of Haller. Overall, it was a memorable theatrical experience and has set us up for many days and years to come with ISTA participation. Thanks to everyone involved!
