Pathways to Graduation | Global Impact Diploma
At ISL, another pathway to graduation is the Global Impact Diploma (GID). A two-year programme that offers an authentic learning experience unlike any other.
Through this programme students undertake independent projects and internships to form part of the learning journey, alongside some specialist courses that culminate in a high school diploma.
The GID is a platform for students from which they can attain a meaningful and personalised education. The programme is built upon 6 foundational competencies that provide the foundation for skills critical for success in the real world.
The GID is designed to instill within students a sense of purpose, supporting the pursuit of their interests by encouraging innovative thinking and real world problem solving. This pathway to graduation revolves around the principle that students working towards tangible goals that align with their personal interests approach their studies with more purpose and intention.
The GID is comprised of three impacts ensuring a well rounded and thorough education.
Foundations of Leadership for Impact
Students learn to lead their own learning while developing collaborative leadership skills to drive meaningful change.
The course follows five phases
- Identify,
- Inquire,
- Innovate,
- Implement,
- Illustrate
Each building essential leadership skills through hands-on, impactful projects.

Collaboration for Impact
Courses prepare you to be an effective member and leader of teams.
- Imperfect Art of Living: Learn what makes humans flourish and how to generate positive changes in yourself and others. (grade 11)
- Entrepreunship for Impact: Create financially sustainable solutions to real needs.
Agency for Impact
Courses focus on impact outside of the classroom and in the real world.
- Internship for Impact: Shadow experts to understand the complexity of impact in a professional setting. (suggested in grade 11)
- Impact Project: Create solutions to an authentic problem of your choice. (suggested in grade 12)
