Middle Years | Welcome

At the International School of Luxembourg our students engage in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Cambridge IGSCE allowing them to flourish academically, socially and personally.

The International School of Luxembourg (ISL) is currently an International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) Candidate School*. As such, students are able to participate in the IB MYP from ages 11-16 or the Cambridge IGCSE (14-16) allowing them to flourish academically, socially and personally.

Through the Middle Years Programme (MYP), our students are given many opportunities to explore their interests, discover hidden talents and develop a greater awareness of the world around them. Teachers foster team building, risk taking, open mindedness, creativity and reflection with our students as they move into their teenage years.

Students enrolled in the ISL Class of 2028 will be the last cohort to complete the IGCSE programme. Cambridge IGCSE is a valued and globally recognised programme, however as we move towards becoming a full IB School, Cambridge IGCSE is being phased out. This has enabled ISL to provide a more cohesive and interconnected academic journey through Foundations to Grade 12.

We encourage you to contact us if you would like to learn more about ISL and would welcome the opportunity to show you around.

*The International School of Luxembourg is a candidate school for the Middle Years Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy: a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education that ISL believes is important for our students.

Only schools authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit www.ibo.org.
