Dear Upper School Parents,
Even though we have only completed one week of school the summer holidays seem but a dim and distant memory. It has been a very smooth start to the year and in all the classes I have visited so far I see students that are engaged and keen to learn.
Parent Information Evenings (Back To School Nights) – September 1 and 6
We hope that all Middle School parents were able to attend the information evening which was held on Thursday 1st September. For grade 9 – 12 parents the Parent Information Evening will take place on Tuesday 6th September and a letter has been sent to all High School parents with the details. The evening begins at 17.30 for parents of students in English Language B classes and at 18.00 in the auditorium for all parents.

Upper School Photographs
Please note that the photographers will visit the Upper School on the 12th and 13th September for student photographs. Family photographs can be taken in the Upper School between 16:00 and 18:00 on these days and a sign-up sheet will be available in the reception.
Safety and Security
I hope that you all have now received your Family ID badges. This is a new initiative in the Upper School and we ask that you wear these cards when you visit the school.
Please also remember that unless supervised by a staff member, students should not be in the Upper School building after 5:00pm Monday to Friday, and at no time during Saturday and Sunday. If students need to remain in the building after 5:00pm during the week, in order to be collected, then we ask them to wait in the main foyer area near to the security guard. I thank you for helping to improve the safety and security of all students at ISL.
Free Student Travel in Luxembourg
Please be aware that as of 1st September students can travel free on all public transport within Luxembourg. To take advantage of this wonderful scheme ISL students simply require a holographic sticker to be placed on their ID card. Please ask them to drop into either the Middle School or High School office in order for them to collect this sticker.
We look forward to meeting you in the coming weeks and hope that all students have a wonderful school year.
