Great Fun at annual May Fest
Great Fun at annual May Fest
Despite the bad weather, the May Fest has been a great success last Sunday. Highlights included the performances of the Rock Club Band, the ever popular "Sponge the Teacher" and the international food village.

Take a look at some pictures here!

Amongst other activities, who raised funds for selected charities, some third graders showed a whole lot of initiative as David Walker describes it here:

"Grade 3 students showed a whole lot of initiative in setting up and running a stall at the recent ISL Mayfest. Beth Mooney came to Mr. Walker asking for help leaving a short note for him on Friday, April 24th. She asked if she could have a stall at the Mayfest to raise money by having students pay a small amount of money to guess the number of candies in a jar. The prize for the nearest answer would be all the candies in the jar. Also, each person submitting a guess would get one candy as a treat.
After asking her parents’ permission over the weekend Mr. Walker directed Beth to the LS Office to help with logistics and contacting the organisers of the Mayfest at ISL. At this point, Beth brought in Cillian McGowan, also of Grade 3 to help out. Both the Mooney and McGowan families, helped by Mrs Faulkner in the LS Office, assisted Beth in getting the project ready.
We were very impressed how Beth took this action on her own and with the help of Cillian and the other adults involved she managed to undertake this excellent idea. Well done Beth and everyone involved."
