Welcome to the Upper School

The Upper School at ISL balances academic growth with social and personal development.

Through our holistic and rigorous programmes, we give our students the confidence to reach their potential, exceed their expectations and pursue their talents to become compassionate and responsible global citizens. We understand that students learn best in an environment where they feel safe and secure, able to take the initiative, try new activities, take risks and make mistakes.  As such, the learning environment is nurturing and respectful of learners and educators.

In the Middle School, our students have many opportunities to explore their interests, discover hidden talents and develop a greater awareness of the world around them. Teachers foster team building, risk taking, open mindedness, creativity and reflection with our students as they move into their teenage years.

Our High School students in Grades 9 and 10 follow the IGCSE programme in core subjects and then move on in Grades 11 and 12 to the High School Diploma, with 90% of our students also pursuing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.  As a result of the diplomas on offer, ISL students are able to obtain admission to the world’s finest universities and colleges.

Beyond the classroom and at an early age, we encourage our students to learn the importance of developing a healthy ‘work-life’ balance. Sports, music, theatre, debate, Global Issues Network, of which ISL was a founding member, MUN, Mérite Jeunesse, the LAP programme, Student Council, Yearbook, Student Newspaper reporters, Community Service, are just some of the activities on offer.

We encourage you to contact us if you would like to learn more about ISL and would welcome the opportunity to show you around.
