ISL | International School of Luxembourg: Admissions Process Overview

For applicant families, the (optional) guided tour can be scheduled on the same day as the admissions interview.

Invitations will be sent by the Admissions office upon receipt of the online application and all required documents.

STEP 2. Interview & Testing

Head of Admissions meeting a prospective family

Admissions Interview and Family Meeting with Head of Admissions and potentially other Admissions Committee Members. All applicants wishing an admissions decision are required to perform described admissions/testing process. Please in particular note below:

Early Years 3/4 (EY3/EY4) is multiage group classes and students applying for EY3/EY4 are invited for group play/interview sessions.

Students applying for Grades 1-5 will typically be asked to complete some essay writing, if sufficient English a MAP testing will take place as well.

Students applying for Grades 6-11 are required to sit Math and English Admissions/placement testing

STEP 3. Decision

For ongoing school year:

Decisions are shared maximum 10 school days after admissions interview

For next school year:

Early Years 3 / Early Years 4: First decisions available mid-February for applicants ready to be offered a decision. To allow the child as much developmental readiness at the time of interview, applicants turning 3 throughout the 2023-24 school year, is invited for interview as close to or after the child has turned 3.
Kindergarten - Grade 11: - First decisions available on Friday before Spring break (late March / early April); thereafter, maximum 10 school days after admissions interview.
