Accreditation

At the conclusion of the September 2023 joint accreditation visit by both the Council of International Schools (CIS) and Middle States Association (MSA), the visiting team described the International School of Luxembourg (ISL) as taking full advantage of best practices and current research on what are the most effective systems, structures, and programs for a world class education, enabling students to reach their full potential. The school completed the innovative CIS Pathway Two protocol through a focus on teaching and learning, with the intention of enhancing the ISL experience and positively impacting student learning.

Six projects, ranging from ongoing significant change initiatives (IB Primary Years Programme Implementation and Nature Based Learning), to projects aimed at refining specific aspects of programmes (Inclusion and Service Learning Provision), as well as in-depth research impacting the future direction of the school (IB Middle Years Programme and the development of Alternative Pathways to graduation), were identified with input from stakeholders. A range of school leaders, teaching faculty, staff members and the Learning Community Council participated on a volunteer basis to bring about a successful accreditation process, and full accreditation by both CIS and MSA.
