The Learning Support Services department is dedicated to creating a welcoming learning environment that fosters academic success and addresses barriers to learning. This department strives to work together with teachers, families and others in our community to foster the healthy development of all of our students.
Learning Support is provided by specialist teachers across the school for students with mild learning difficulties to meet individual needs in accessing the curriculum. A variety of service delivery models may be used, including monitoring, in-class support, and individual or small group instruction in a separate setting. Services may include skill development, compensatory instruction and content support. The Learning Support team liaises with class and specialist teachers in order to facilitate differentiated instruction, appropriate accommodations and to monitor performance in accordance with the Individual Learning Plan goals.
