Academics

Our programme is designed to foster a culture of academic excellence that enables all students to reach their true potential. Our standards-based curriculum balances instruction in the core academic subjects of language and literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies, with comprehensive instruction in the arts and physical education. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is fully integrated throughout the curriculum. Language instruction plays an important role in our school for both native and non-native speakers of English. We offer programmes in English as an Additional Language, French and German. In addition, we host a number of after-school "mother-tongue" programmes. Learning support is provided for students with mild to moderate disabilities.

Our school is involved with a number of international initiatives that seek to define and implement the best teaching and assessment practices. These efforts include our membership with the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) and our involvement with the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), which has designed the International Schools Assessment that we have adopted for grades 3-10. The ISA is tailored for students in international schools based on the internationally endorsed reading and mathematical literacy frameworks of the OECD's Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA).
