Maurice Barnich Exhibits at ISL

Maurice Barnich’s exhibition of photographs of the west coast of Ireland opens with a vernissage at the International School of Luxembourg on Monday, 22 March at 12:15 in the Upper School Library. Mr Barnich will be present and will make a few remarks to discuss his techniques and there will be some live Irish folk music to provide a backdrop to the spirit of these powerful images.
The original, framed work will be available for purchase and all of the proceeds will be donated to the Haiti Project, of which ISL is a founding member. The goal of the Haiti Project is to establish a school for the poorest of Haiti’s children, many of whom have never had the opportunity to attend school at all. ISL extends a warm welcome to the Luxembourg community for this event. Please come along to meet the photographer, enjoy the art as well as the music, and support a very worthy cause. Framed, matted photographs are priced at €75; unframed matted pieces at €50.
About Maurice Barnich - Born in Dudelange in 1962, Maurice Barnich‘s interest in photography dates from the age of 14. His love for Ireland and Celtic culture came at the age of 16 mainly through Irish folk music. Following a first trip to the west coast of Ireland in 1979 he has returned regularly since 1985. During his voyages he has discovered the beauty of these landscapes and, having focused his interest in photography mainly on landscapes and close-ups of nature; it was natural for him to try to capture his impressions with the camera.
