ISL’s Winter Holiday Concert will take place on Sunday, 14 December 2008 at 15:00 at the beautiful Conservatoire de Musique de Luxembourg located on the hill behind the school, 33, rue Charles Martel.

This concert will unite the best musical talent that the school has to offer in a seasonal selection of pieces that are fun to play and entertaining to hear. The bands and choirs will play individual selections and will combine for some numbers as well. Admission is free and all are welcome.

Tickets required for entry; available at ISL

We are privileged to be able to hold this event at the Conservatoire and grateful to the Ville de Luxembourg for welcoming our school. The city requires ticketing for Conservatoire events, even when admission is free. If you would like to attend the concert, please collect your tickets from Mrs Mancinelli at the school reception desk between the hours of 09:00-15:00, Monday-Friday. Seating will be limited due to the number of students performing, so please only take the number of tickets that you intend to use.

About ISL’s Performing Ensembles

The International School has a total of five different choirs and six bands which are open to children in kindergarten through the end of secondary school.

The newly formed Hillside Choir counts over 50 young singers, ages 5-8. There is also a Junior Eagle Choir for upper elementary students. All 210 Middle School students take part in the Middle School Choir. Concert Choir and High School Choir are both extra-curricular vocal ensembles.

There are four bands and two jazz ensembles at ISL with more than 100 students taking part. Students as young as Grade 4 (age 9) may join the band and there are opportunities for young musicians to play in Concert Band, Symphonic Band or either of two Jazz Ensembles according to student age, ability and interest.
