ISL’s First Pre-Schoolers Graduate With Class of 2008

Three of this year’s 42 ISL graduates have a unique connection with the school; they belonged to the very first pre-school class that opened 15 years ago. Anna Kuylenstierna, Sarah Geuss and André Bernardo formed part of the inaugural group of three year olds who began their education at what was known in 1993 as the American International School of Luxembourg. Furthermore Anna and Sarah enjoy the distinction of having completed their entire education at ISL. Following a hiatus during the lower school years, André returned to ISL to complete the final seven years his secondary education.
Pre-school teacher Bonnie Ham was on hand for the June 7th graduation ceremony to congratulate her first students as they received their diplomas. Mrs Ham has been teaching in pre-school since she founded the programme in 1993. Now that she has seen her very first students through to the end, Mrs Ham is retiring from teaching at the end of this academic year in order to pursue a very busy schedule of travel and other activities. Students, parents and colleagues alike will sorely miss her wisdom, gentle guidance and unflappable patience.
