General K-12 Standards



  1. Listening Comprehension
    Students will understand and interpret spoken language on diverse topics, in both formal and informal situations.
  2. Oral Expression
    Students will express themselves orally, with coherence, in a broad range of situations.
  3. Reading
    Students will read with fluency, understanding and interpreting written language on a variety of topics from diverse media.
  4. Written Expression
    Students will write clearly and effectively, using a wide range of styles, forms and registers.
  5. Cultural Awareness
    Students will demonstrate an awareness of, and sensitivity to, the culture(s) related to the language studied.
  6. Research Skills
    Students will be able to research a topic in the target language.
