What is required to complete an admission application to ISL?

  1. Completion of our Online Enquiry.
  2. Completion of our Online Application.
  3. Completion and submission of our age-specific Required Application Documents. All School Recommendations and Records must be accompanied by an English translation if not originally written in English.
  • Administrator’s Recommendation Form to be mailed directly from child’s school.
  • Teacher Recommendation Form(s) to be mailed directly from child’s school.
  • Copies of Most Recent School Reports (three years, when possible).
  • Parent completed Health History Form.
  • Hand-written Writing Sample (for applicants age 8+).
  • High School Credit form (for applicants for Grades 10-12).
  1. Submission of a copy of the applicant’s identification page of passport or birth certificate.
  2. Proof of payment of a non-refundable, €250 Application Fee. View details.
  3. An Applicant Interview and Family Meeting with the Admissions Manager.
  4. ISL Testing for applicants to Grades 6-12 and all non-native English speaking applicants.

Admissions decisions cannot take place until the entire application process (paperwork, interviews and placement testing) has been completed.


How do I begin the application process at ISL?

A family may begin the application process by visiting the Enquiry Online page of our website. There you will find an Enquiry Form and an Online Application. Information regarding the forms and documents that need to be completed off line are found on our Required Application Documents web page.


When should I begin the application process?

We encourage families to fill out our Online Enquiry form and Online Application form at their earliest convenience within one year of their intended enrolment date.

Many of our other Required Application Documents are time sensitive. We therefore ask that these documents be sent to us in accordance with our Admissions Application Timeline.


How old must my child be in order to apply to a particular grade level?

  • Pre-School: Children must be 3 years old on our before 31 August of their entry year in order to join our Pre-School. There are no exceptions to this age requirement.
  • Grade 12: Due to the continuous nature of our two year International Baccalaureate (IB) programme, we are unable to accept students who are new to the IB and interested in enrolling in Grade 12. Any applicant for Grade 12 who is currently enrolled in an IB programme at another school should .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to discuss the possibility of a transfer to ISL.

Will my child need to visit ISL before being accepted to the school?

Yes. A visit is required of every applicant prior to acceptance. We look forward to meeting and interviewing every applicant as part of the admissions process. Students applying for Grades 6-11 will also be asked to sit for age appropriate testing during this visit.

When is the best time to take a tour?


When will I learn whether my child has been accepted?

Families applying for entry beginning with the January semester will be notified no later than 15 November and families applying for the new school year starting in August will be notified from 01 April.

We aim to share admissions decisions for families applying for mid-semester and immediate entry within 7-10 school days after they have completed the application process.


How do I secure a place for my child, if she or he is accepted?

The enrollment of accepted applicants is secured through the payment of a Registration and Capital Fee of €2500 to be made within two weeks of the date of acceptance. This is a one-time only payment that is separate from tuition fees.

Accepted applicants will receive an invoice for the Registration and Capital Fee.


Is it possible that my child will be placed on a waiting list?

On occasion, due to temporary space constraints, we will need to accept a candidate and put him or her on a waiting list. Under these circumstances, we work closely with families on the waiting list and are often able to contact them within a short period of time to offer them an opening in their grade level.


Does ISL offer support for students with special learning needs?

Learning support is provided by specialist teachers across the school for students with mild learning difficulties to meet individual needs in accessing the curriculum.
